MIMCO, Australia’s leading luxury accessories brand is adding sunglasses to its eclectic offering for Season 2 2010. The 24 piece collection will launch into MIMCO boutiques and online from July; the sunglasses collection is the newest category joining handbags, wallets, jewellery, shoes, hair accessories, hats, scarves, gloves, watches and hosiery.
Creative Director Cathryn Wills said that sunglasses were the natural progression for the label and a category requested by MIMCO customers. “We are incredibly excited to launch our first sunglasses collection. After Mimco’s expansion into footwear 18 months ago, we decided to ask our customers what they wanted next from Mimco and sunglasses were at the top of the list,” says Wills.
Each piece in the collection has its own unique style and shape and encompasses the design philosophy of the MIMCO brand. Twelve styles have been created with two colour ways in each, with many of the frames being specially moulded from acetates and metals.
The ladies from MIMCO head office were models for the day and allowed their energy and style to be captured to showcase the sunglasses collection in iconic Melbourne locations. Many of the ‘models’ saw the range to fruition – from design to production – and have demonstrated how the eyewear can be worn by real women. www.mimco.com.au
